About the Program

What kind of issues do men face that benefit from counselling?
Is there hope for men with sex addiction or porn addiction?
How can men handle societal and relationship pressures and expectations?
Do men need support through divorce and custody issues?
What about men and alcoholism or drug addiction?
Do men suffer from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and other mental health issues?

Sometimes the unique pressures that men face seem to take a backseat to other priorities. The pressures to succeed, to communicate, to be a good father, to pay, to be masculine, to be sensitive, to be a good lover, to look good, to excel at everything, to moderate pleasures, and more can be overwhelming. Men’s counselling can provide objective and fresh insight and give men perspective and new skills that will make it easier to navigate this labyrinth.

men set priorities that guarantee they fulfill important obligations but still retain a place for their own needs and interests. Therapy can help you sort out communication difficulties with your partners, in-laws, children, work colleagues, and friends. Some simple support is often all you need to sort out mild depression or moderate bad habits. I can help you determine if your use of alcohol, drugs, gambling, video games, sex, or porn are distractions that require attention or if they are more serious problems.

the gym or to excessive use of supplements. Since most men aren’t professional bodybuilders or mountain climbers, this excessive attention to masculinity can actually detract from masculinity by taking away from more important things. Most men who use the gym are simply working towards or maintaining health, but if others have suggested you are “obsessive” about working out, or if you use the gym or supplements at the expense of other priorities such as health, the issue might need to be addressed for balance to be regained.

a listening ear or guidance in matters of depression or work expectations. Men might want some support through divorce proceedings or other situations that cause pain and confusion. Therapy for men can help men find more confidence and deal with past and present heartbreaks and confusion. By learning new skills in communication or by releasing burdens to an objective listening ear, men will be able to sort out everyday problems as well as more serious issues.
